About the programme

If you want to be well prepared to face the challenges of a highly competitive job market, study English Philology – practical profile of the undergraduate studies in English. The University of Opole in cooperation with local companies and business organisations have created an innovative programme that allows the undergraduates to link their academic growth with practical application of knowledge and skills in business settings.

 BA studies finish with a BA defense and a BA degree.

The most important courses

The programme comprises several business subjects, such as project managmenet, change management, international commerce and trade law, business negotiations, or business relationships, to name a few. In semesters 4 and 5, students undergo an internship (a total of 960 hours) in enterprises, companies, corporations or institutions of their choice. In semesters 5 and 6, students work on a diploma paper embedded in their practical profile.

Advantages of the Programme

As a result of the three-year-long study of English Philology – practical profile, students finish their studies with strong communication skills in English at C1 level in writing and speaking, the knowledge of a second foreign language at B2 level, the ability to search for information in various sources, to analyze and synthesize information, and to work effectively both independently and in teams. These skills give undergraduates opportunity to seek employment in small, medium, or large manufacturing companies, design and administrative entities, and private enterprises, corporations, business institutions, in planning, logistics, or production and enterprise project management divisions, especially where advanced command of general and business English is a standard job requirement

Admission requirements

In order to be eligible for English Philology – practical profile, first-cycle studies, candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Maturity diploma or an equivalent (i.e. secondary school leaving certificate);
• Subjects: English and any subject of your choice (except English);
• B2 level language proficiency in English (confirmed with a recognized certificate or an online oral exam).
