Registration Fee

Your application will be processed after you pay the registration fee in the amount of 85 PLN.

It is to be paid to your personal account number generated by the system that will be displayed in the Payments section after you register for the programme.

You can also pay via the Blue Media platform (instant transfer – additional cost is usually 1,50 PLN). You need to specify the amount of the transfer in the quick transfer section and click the “I pay” button and follow further instructions on the website. The additional fee will be charged automatically. The payment should be credited to your IRK account within a few minutes.

Refund of registration fee

Candidates can apply for a refund of the registration fee until the 31st of October.



Registration fee can be refunded only in the following cases:

1. program was not open due to a small number of candidates

2. invalid registration because of the payment after the deadline or a lack of registration for a programme or specialisation or lack of the document entitling to pursue the program;

3. overpayment.

The fee is not refundable in case a candidate is disqualified from studies due to insufficient results or lack of recruitment documents.

The candidate has to withdraw their application in case they want to apply for a refund before they are qualified for studies.


How to apply for a registration fee refund:

Please note that we do not cover the currency conversion fees or any other expenses related to oversees payments.

Tuition fee 

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee must be paid within 14 days from the date a candidate was accepted for studies.



The tuition fee for undergraduate and graduate programmes amounts to 3600 PLN (approx. 800 EUR) per semester / 7200 PLN  (approx. 1600 EUR) per one academic year.

EXCEPTION: For English Philology (undergraduate and graduate), English in Public Communication and programmes conducted in Polish the tuition fee amounts to 2600 PLN (approx. 580 EUR) per semester / 5200 PLN (approx. 1160 EUR) per one academic year.

Amount of the tuition fee and refund policy have been set by Regulation no. 29/2023 by the Rector of the University of Opole from 30 of March 2023. Amounts of tuition fee for particular study programmes are included in the Appendix no. 2 to aforementioned Regulation no. 29/2023.


Information regarding the bank account to which a candidate is to pay the tuition fee is sent via email upon qualification for studies.

 
Studies free of charge

Tuition fee shall not be charged from the following foreigners (only when a foreigner applies for a study program conducted in Polish or for English Philology / English in Public Communication; for all other programs conducted in English candidates have to pay the tuition fee):

  • holders of a valid Polish Card (Karta Polaka) or holders of decision on validation of his/her Polish origins;
  • holders of a permanent residence permit or holders of a European Community long-term residence permit issued in Poland;
  • holders of a refugee status in Poland or granted temporary or complementary protection in Poland;
  • holders of a certificate confirming his/her command of Polish language at minimum C1 level, issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language;
  • residing in Poland and being EU/EFTA citizens or their family members;
  • residing in Poland and being a spouse, ascendant (parent) or descendant (child) of a Polish citizen;
  • holders of a temporary residence permit (fixed-term residence permit) issued:
    • for the purposes of family reunification;
    • due to the fact that he/she is a holder of a European Community long-term residence permit issued in another EU country;
    • due to the fact that he/she is a member of the family of a holder of a European Community long-term residence permit issued in another EU country.

Foreigners can be exempt from paying the tuition fee on the basis of:

1) administrative decision of the rector, director of the PAN institute, or director of the research institute;

2) decision of the Minister or the NAWA director regarding the scholarship holders. Check NAWA scholarship programmes.

 
Refund of tuition fee

The refund policy have been set by Regulation no. 29/2023 by the Rector of the University of Opole from 30 of March 2023


The tuition fee can be refunded in full only in the case of:

  • resignation from the studies before the decision on opening of a study program is made. The application for a refund of the tuition fee have to be submitted to the International Students Office by September 14;
  • negative decision regarding the visa procedure (in this case, the decision sealed and signed by the appropriate consul has to be submitted with the application for a refund);
  • the Rector’s decision on cancelling a program.

The tuition fee refund is reduced by ten [10] percent [%]:

  • if a candidate applies for a refund after the decision on opening the program is made (i.e. after September 14);
  • after matriculation, if the student does not confirm the student oath.

When a student applies for a refund after October 1, the tuition fee will be reduced proportionally to the costs of classes which were already conducted. Costs will be calculated from the beginning of the academic year to the day after the submission of the application for a refund.

! Refunds are possible only if the applications are submitted before the end of the period for which the tuition fee was paid.

If the tuition fee for the first semester of studies is paid, a refund will be possible only if the application is submitted before the winter examination session. By the time the examination session starts, the refunded amount will have been completely reduced proportionally to the costs of classes which were already conducted.


How to apply for a tuition fee refund?:

  1. Download the IBAN chart (WORD format / PDF format)
  2. Read the instructions and fill-in the chart electronically with correct and full information. You can use the below-provided examples.
  3. Send the filled-in chart, the tuition fee payment receipt generated from your bank and other necessary documents (if applicable) to hello@uni.opole.pl
  4. The International Students Office will prepare the necessary documents for you to sign and send them to you.
  5. Send the signed application back to the International Students Office. After that, it is submitted to the Finance Department for further processing.

Our University does not process transfers involving intermediary banks. The information sent to the International Students Office ought to include only the final beneficiary bank.

According to The Code of Administrative Procedureapplications sent to public institutions should include information enabling the institution to identify the sender. Thus, messages without the sender’s name and surname will be left unanswered (Dz.U. 2022 poz. 2000, art. 63 § 2).
