Procedure of recognition

Dear Candidates,

please be aware that all students of first-cycle studies who come to Poland need to have their secondary school graduation certificates recognized as an equivalent of the Polish maturity exam.

Students, whose documents were issued in European Union, the European Free Trade Association – European Economic Area and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD): Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, United Kingdom, are exempted from the administrative proceedings deriving from the process of recognition.

It would be best if all of the required documents were acquired before you came to Poland so that you do not need to travel abroad several times in a row.

Upon consulting the Education Superintendent’s Office in Opole, foreigners are advised to acquire information documenting their complete curricula from high schools, consisting of a list of all covered subjects and topics.
