Student Culture Centre (in Polish: Studenckie Centrum Kultury) was opened on October 15, 2011. It’s aim is to provide the Univeristy with the perfect place for presentations, promotion, and the development of cultural activity among the academia of the University of Opole.
SCK combines cultural activites with the art education on the higher education level.
The SCK building construction project was co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund.
The Centre is equipped with two rehersal rooms: theatre – supplied with folding screens and theatre lights, and a dance studio furnished with mirrors. In our Centre we also have an event hall, prepared to seat 314 guests. The hall has a platform scene, retractable amphitheatrical audience, and a small rehersal hall with a wardrobe.
At the basement level we have three music studios where young artists can improve ther musical skills. Our Centre is also a place where their headquarters have: the Student Government, and the editors of the University’s Sygnały Radio. On the upper floors you can find a professional radio and recording studios. Halls of the building serve as an exhibition space.
