Attention! Friday classes have been cancelled, so that we all could celebrate the 23th anniversary of the University of Opole.
The university was created on March 10, 1994, however, an embryo of its foundation may be observed in the existence of the previous academies: Higher School of Pedagogy (1950-1994) and the branch of Catholic University of Lublin, which had subsisted in Opole since 1981. For more detailed information about the history of the University of Opole, click here: http://muzeum.uni.opole.pl/the-story-uo/. You may also visit the Museum of Opole University located in 11a Kopernik Square (Collegium Maius).
The University of Opole has extended its educational offer for years. Currently, it educates about 9.5 thousand students through 8 faculties and by the same token, it enables to graduate from a wide range of courses and specializations. Both humanists and the scientific minds may acquire the most desirable knowledge. In the near future, it will be possible to study medicine (the construction works of Collegium Medicum are in progress!). If you want to take a look at a faculty buildings map, click here: https://usosweb.uni.opole.pl/kontroler.php?_action=katalog2%2Fjednostki%2FbudynkiJednostki&jed_org_kod=00000000&lang=en
However, it is worth to mention that the University of Opole creates conditions to acquire knowledge not only during lectures and workshops. Students may join student research groups, as well as special interest groups such us (among others) Campus Radio (Radio Sygnały), Student Television Station (Studencka Telewizja SETA) or Student Newspaper (Gazeta Studencka). Additionally, a few words about international cooperation can be said. The University of Opole is an institution which interacts with numerous foreign organizations and higher educational units. For over twenty years, the university actively participates in concluding agreements with outland partners. As a result of some of these cooperations, you are a precious student of the University of Opole.
