Student ID card
Student ID card – document confirming the student status.
In Poland all students are issued with student ID cards after matriculation. They are entitled to hold them till the end of their studies, but they lose the right to use the document if they are suspended or expelled.
Validity of the (paper) Card is to be confirmed every semester by putting on it the date of expiry and a round stamp with the state crest, and an electronic version of the card is validated by updating the data in the electronic circuit and putting another hologram on the card.
Student ID card entitles the user to lower fares in public transport pursuant to the Regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration from 25 October 2002 on documents confirming entitlement for using public transport with discount fares. Student discounts are:

- 49% – for stopping and fast trains, and coaches – monthly travel cards (for students below 26 years of age)
- 50% – for city public transport
