A meeting with Professor David Malcolm, who is a writer, translator and university teacher, will be held on March 30, 2017, at 10:00 am in Collegium Maius, room 206. The talk with David Malcolm on his work, focusing on his last novel The German Messenger (2016) and a collection of short stories entitled Radio Moscow and Other Stories (2015, 2016), will be hosted by Prof. Jacek Gutorow from the Institute of English Studies.
Prof. David Malcolm, who is currently working at the Institute of English and American Studies at the University of Gdańsk, is an author of many academic publications, inter alia, Understanding Ian McEwan (2002), Understanding Graham Swift (2003), and Understanding John McGahern (2007) issued by the University of South Carolina Press. He is also an editor and co-editor of a number of books on contemporary English language prose and poetry, inter alia, The British and Irish Short Story, 1945-2000 and The Blackwell Companion to the British and Irish Short Story. His translations of German and Polish poetry and prose have been were published in the United Kingdom, the United States, Austria and Poland. He also writes reviews of literary works for The Times Literary Supplement and is a co-organizer of the International Festival of Literature and Theatre BETWEEN. AMONG, which has been held annually in Sopot since 2010.
