Dear students,

We hope you feel good after the stressful exam session and the short break was enough for you to recharge your batteries. Very soon the summer semester will start bringing totally new experiences to those who have been staying at UO, who went abroad or came to Opole as exchange students, and those who came back home after the completion of their Erasmus mission here. Regardless of your status and location, we wish you to enjoy your time both in the academic environment and outside the universities.

This semester the UO, as usual, hosts a lot of our foreign colleagues, who have the privilege to settle into the studying process easily, starting with participation in the events organized for them within the Adaptation Week. Therefore, this information will come in handy to everyone: incoming students, their buddies and all the rest who want to participate in the events and welcome our new friends at UO.

To start with, on February 14th at 1.30 p.m., you are expected and invited to the one-hour town tour with the starting point near Collegium Maius (11A, Kopernika Square). You will have a nice walk around Opole centre, hear a bit of its history, and get to know the area in general. If you don’t know how to get to the starting point, the buddies will meet you at the entrance hall of Niechcic at 1.15 p.m.

Later that day at 3.15 p.m., you are invited to participate in the Inauguration of the Erasmus+ Studies, which will be held in the Collegium Maius building, room 301. The UO staff will explain the details of studies under the terms of the Erasmus+ project, answer all your questions that might appear, moreover, they are preparing a surprise for you.

February 15th will be no less exciting, especially if you are into active forms of leisure. At 5.45 p.m. you are expected to be near Collegium Maius again, from where you will be taken to the Toropol ice rink (or you can come straight to the ice rink by yourselves by 6.15 p.m.). We will assist you in renting ice skates, of course, if you are eager to move a bit.

Finally, we couldn’t call the adaptation week completed and successful if it weren’t finished with a welcoming party. Let’s meet on February 17th at the Student Culture Centre (95 Katowicka Street – Campus) and have fun from 5 p.m. till 10 p.m. Dear regular students, it applies to you as well, don’t miss the chance to meet new people and relax after the first week of the hardships of studying.

We also want to remind you the calendar of the summer semester:
