Countries old and new: memorialisation among Polish migrants in Hull

Within the framework of methodology seminars organised by the Department of Social and Marketing Research, Institute of Sociology, Dr Lisa Dikomitis (University of Hull) will deliver a lecture – Countries old and new: memorialisation among Polish migrants in Hull on December 07, 2017, 01.00 pm, room 119, Collegium Civitas. The lecture is based on the research conducted within the project Rember Me. The Changing Face of Memorialisation, exploring the making of meaning in memorial practices in Great Britain.

The Seminar, first in a series, is intended for staff members and students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and any interested members of the University community. The series of visiting lectures aims to present methodologies behind major research projects in social sciences. It will be also an opportunity to see the results of those projects and to discuss them. In addition to the dissemination of knowledge, the Seminar attempts to encourage expending cooperation with new partners carrying out research projects in Europe.
