Dear students,

We have the pleasure to announce the recruitment for Polish Philology with German. The programme has been designed for foreigners with no prior knowledge of the Polish language.

The graduates of the 3-year BA programme will speak fluent Polish and good German, and will be well acquainted with Polish and German culture, history and customs. For the students who have been already learning German, more advanced groups will be opened. Each student chooses one of the three specialities: Polish and German in Business, Polish and German in Tourism or Polish and German in Culture.

Apart from the language courses, some of the subjects the students will analyse are Polish music and fine arts, cultural texts, theatre and cinema.

The graduates of the study programme may find work opportunities in Polish, German and international companies as well as in cultural institutions or international foundations, where language skills are crucial.

Some of the positions a graduate might expect to be suitable for are: sales representative, business meetings organizer, trade agreement negotiator, cultural animator, organizer of cultural events, international exchange coordinator, tourism officer, etc.

The programme provides the students not only with language skills, but also with specialist knowledge as well as practical skills in the field of the specialty she or he chooses.

The department requires as well as assists the student in acquiring experience through an internship, so that the graduate has an opportunity to test her or his practical skills.

If you’re interested in applying for this programme, do hurry up. It’s necessary to register and send out your documents by Feb 9th. In case you have any problems or questions regarding the programme or the registration, feel free to contact our Office for International Study Programmes staff at joanna.gacka@uni.opole.pl or oksana.smolnikova@uni.opole.pl .
