Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

When will I be given access to my USOS account?

Immatriculation (official registration in the University’s systems) usually takes place one or two weeks before the start of the semester (1 October). Please check your emails (the ones you provided in the IRK system), especially your spam folder.

Pro tip: if the semester has already started, go to the Dean’s Office to ask whether you’re already in the system and to find out your student ID number. Then, in the USOS system, click ‘Log in’. Below the login details, you’ll find “Forgot your password” – click on this and enter your university email address (index-numer@student.uni.opole.pl). This will send an account activation link to your inbox.

You can pay for your student ID card once you have gained access to USOS. Every student has a different bank account number – do not ask your fellow students to give you their account number from USOS, as you will end up paying for their ID card; do not give your own account number to others! You must transfer 22 zł to the account number you will find in USOS. The transfer reference must include: ‘Student ID card fee – your first name and surname’.

The ID card should be ready for collection in early October, provided the payment has been made.

You do not need to submit an application for a student ID card; simply pay the fee of 22 zł into your personal bank account, which you can find on USOS.

The timetable is usually published in the last few days of September for the winter term and in the last few days of February for the summer term.

You can find it by visiting your faculty’s website and then clicking on the ‘Students’ tab at the very top of the page. Once the options have expanded, click on ‘Class schedules’. Select your degree programme and click on it or on the orange text beneath the programme name.

For those of you who are still waiting for your visa, please make sure to check your timetable to find out the names of your lecturers. You can then find the lecturers’ email addresses (possibly via USOS). You should contact each of them to let them know that you are still waiting for your visa, and make sure to ask about the material that will be covered which you will miss due to your late arrival.

You should direct this question to the office where you applied. Normally, new students must report to the University within the first two weeks of the semester; otherwise, they automatically fail the semester and are removed from the student register. However, some faculties grant an extension of this period for international students.

If you have already received your visa and are encountering travel-related problems, you can contact your faculty Dean’s office to request an extension to your arrival date. When contacting the admissions office where you applied, you can ask for assistance in contacting the faculty office regarding this matter.

By the end of September, you should receive an email from the Dormitory Administration. If you cannot see the message in your inbox, please check your spam folder.

You can also find the accommodation dates on the website: https://ds.uni.opole.pl/aktualnosci/kwaterowanie-w-domach-studenta-uo-na-rok-akademicki-2026-2027/. You’ll receive more detailed information about living in the dormitory from the Administration when you sign your contract.
