Emergency information

In case of any life or health threatening emergency situation call 112 – emergency dispatch  will contact the emergency services.

 

Emergency numbers:

  • General – 112;
  • Medical emergency – 999;
  • Fire Department – 998;
  • Police – 997.

In case of medical emergency such as endangerment of life or health, after serious accident or sudden worsening of life condition  you can call emergency number 112 or 999.

In case of less dangerous situations (cold, nausea, fever, lasting pain etc.) contact POZ doctor. If emergency happens between 6PM and 8AM, during weekend or holidays go to Night and Holiday Healthcare.

Nearest Emergency Department (SOR) and Night and Holiday Healthcare is placed on 64 Katowicka Street, 46-020 Opole.

In case of fire, accident requiring help of rescuers or other cases requiring specialized intervention call 112 or 998. Nearest Fire Department is placed on 24 Głogowska Street, 45-315 Opole.

 In case of robbery, losing your documents, violence abuse in public area etc. you can call emergency number 112 or 997. Nearest Police Department is placed on 1 Leona Powolnego Street, 45-078 Opole.

University support

University Mediation Centre

Established in March 2026, it provides mediation services for students and staff, as well as offering alternative methods of conflict resolution. It is located in room 1.5 of the Faculty of Law and Administration at 87A Katowicka Street.

Equal Treatment Officer

The University has an Equal Treatment Officer. If you have witnessed discrimination or have experienced it yourself, you can contact her. Workshops, training sessions and other events on equal treatment are also organised. Contact: mpogorzelska@uni.opole.pl

Psychological support

The University also has a Psychological and Therapeutic Support Centre, which provides free services in the areas of psychological and therapeutic support, assistance for people experiencing a mental health crisis, personal developement groups and psychoeducational workshops. The Centre is located at 87 Katowicka Street (DS. Mrowisko), 45-061 Opole.

Support Centre for People with Disabilities

The centre is located in room 11 at 87B Katowicka Street (DS. Niechcic), 45-061 Opole. It provides information on rights and available support. Support is provided only to those who come forward themselves and present the relevant medical documentation.

Welcome Point

One of the first places you should visit once you arrive in Poland. It is located in room 11 at 31 Grunwaldzka Street (Kmicic Hall), 45-054 Opole.
